"No! Blizzard! No!"
So it was a bad idea to bring Blizzard along with her today.
Cussing under her breath, Alexis sprinted after the hyperactive husky. She was out of breath within seconds, but she didn't dare stop lest risk losing sight of her dog. Dammit, she thought to herself, annoyed. I knew I should've taken PE seriously. After nearly colliding with a burly mean-looking kid, Alexis made a mental note to get back to using that thing called the leash. Sometimes, she can be really stupid. But then, Blizzard behaved so well in the past few walks, leading her to think that he was trained enough. Way to prove her wrong, Blizzard.
"Oh gods..." Alex trailed off, watching the puppy slip through the entrance of the bath house. I'm screwed.
Not wanting to think what would happen in a public area at the arrival of some rambunctious dog, Alexis quickened her pace and stumbled into the building. She stopped in her tracks two seconds in. Had it always been this... dark? Oh crap, she remembered with a jolt. Halloween. Taking deep breaths, Alex squinted through the semi-darkness but she couldn't see five feet in front of her. Dread washed over the daughter of Apollo as she tried to listen for excited barks. There were none.
Alexis bit the inside of her cheek before proceeding cautiously. It's official. I'm royally screwed.

| Emalin Collins Daughter of FortunaI walked towards the Haunted Bath House, thinking how stupid I was to be doing this. I was going to pee all over everything. I always did when I got scared. Not the 'I'm battling something, and it's going to kill me now' scared, the 'Oh my gods, you just jumped out at me, and all my bodily fluids have been released' scared. And yet, I found my feet carrying me to my Doom. This would be better with a friend, but I hadn't made any that wanted to come with me yet, so I just continued on my way. I saw a girl with a dog, just ahead of me. I wasn't sure if she was headed to the Bath House or not, but her dog, a great big husky who had run away from her, sure was. As he, or she, ran into the building, I walked up to the girl. 'Nice dog. Were you planning on going into the Bath House before?' I asked, matching my pace with hers. Even if the answer was no, she was sure as Hades going in there now, unless she wanted her dog to be scaring the other campers, just as much as the people jumping out at them. After coming to this conclusion, I decided that I now had a friend to go through the Haunted Bath House with, and maybe it wouldn't be completely awkward when I wet myself. Just maybe.

Alexis jumped at the sudden voice. "Holy mother of Jupiter!" she exclaimed, her voice an octave higher than usual. Color rose to her cheeks. "Er... sorry for that. I'm not exactly the bravest person around when it comes to these things," she admitted sheepishly, trying to cover up for her short moment of embarrassment. She actually found it a little amusing though, how she can hold her own in a life-and-death battlefield and yet epically fail when it comes to haunted places.
As she felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand at the ominous feeling of being watched, Alexis tried to swallow the rest of her fears before looking back at the girl. "No, I wouldn't have come here if it weren't for Blizzard - my dog, I mean." Which is unfortunately missing, she added in her thoughts. Alexis repressed a shudder. She had to find Blizzard, and quickly. Taking a deep breath, she turned back to the girl, smiling at the relief of having company in a place like this. "I'm Alexis, by the way. Alex for short. You?"
ooc: actually the husky is still a puppy, so it's not as huge as you might think xD

| Emalin Collins Daughter of Fortuna[center]I grinned when I scared her. It wasn't that I enjoyed bringing stress to other people, her reaction was funny. 'Don't worry, I'm not any better than you are! Except you have the common sense to not want to go in...' I smiled at the girl. I wasn't paying attention to what my feet were going over as I walked, and while she was in the middle of telling me her name-Alex-I face-planted onto the cobblestone ground. It tasted like what I imagine Pluto would taste like. No offense to him, of course. I got up fast, brushing myself off as I hurried to catch up to her. 'I'm Emalin, Emalin Collins. But you can call me Em, Emmy, or whatever else you might have the desire to call me. I don't really care. Your puppy's really cute, by the way!' My toe had begun to slightly throb, and I looked behind me to see what I had tripped on. Of course, there was nothing. I cursed the flat ground. It just had to be so trippable today, didn't it? | |
